Stuck inside my puzzled mind
Never knowing what I’ll find
Troubled thoughts fly round and round
To madness I’ve resigned
Listen to the voice within
Every neuron fires sin
Faster, faster, they speed around
When did it all begin?
I can’t imagine the smallest reprieve
My troubled mind will not concede
Never resting, entropy surrounds
Erratically conceived
Electricity beams at the speed of light
Letting my misplaced mind take flight
Erasing the memory of solid ground
Is it even worth the fight?
When daytime yawns and night takes hold
Fortune favors not the bold
Control is an allusion, never found
Or so the story unfolds
Return me to my place of rest
Upon my mother’s giving breast
Your whisper, your voice, the only sound
For a moment I behest
Where maddened chaos was not the norm
Sunlight shined through the bitter gray storm
Thunder above refused to pound
Before my mind was torn
Back when/before I was born
