Enough

1/2/2023
Breathe in, hold
one, two, three, four
give yourself a moment
with every feeling: explore

Ready... exhale
four, three, two, one
stave all your judgement
we've only just begun

repeat & repeat
for as long as long as it takes
until you make peace with
those you once called mistakes

Each and every feeling
will come and it will go
and when they come: accept them
they teach us more than we know

And on days fraught with fear
with anger and with doubt
experience those feelings
Don't hold them in but out

You've learned so much about yourself
give credit where it's due
your hard work is paying off
I see a better you

Now one more time: breathe in with me
feel tension wane and ease
I know it wasn't easy
But as your shoulders release

As your stomach softens
your jaw becomes unclenched
be proud you've come as far as you have
your spirit is full and quenched

Say these words along with me
'I love who I am
I love who I'm becoming
I'm safe right where I stand'

I'm proud you can acknowledge
your feelings no matter how tough
never forget these simple words
you... are... enough.
