Ears Muffled

by ·

11/17/2016
Ears muffled,
Eyes shut tight,
Drown out the world,
Too tired to fight.

Hopelessly hopeful,
The world will pass by;
No matter what transpires,
I'd rather not know why.

I crave silence:
Turmoil—no more.
To the cliff's edge, I'd go
for peace to restore;

To come together:
The thread re-spun—
The world for the better:
Our hatred undone—
Acknowledging our differences:
Yet accepted as one.
