Don't Tell Me You're Depressed

by ·

10/1/2016
Don't tell me you're "depressed"
When you're favorite TV show stops.
Don't tell me you're "depressed"
When you're team loses the game.

If you truly know "depression"
You've met your demons within.
If you truly know "depression"
They have sucked all marrow from life, and replaced with sin.

If you have actually been "depressed"
It isn't so easy to say.
If you actually have been "depressed"
You've watched every color turn gray,

Perhaps what you call "depression"
Is merely sad and blue,
Perhaps what you call "depression"
If offensive to those who do.

But who am I to question "depression"
I don't know your story at all.
Who am I to question "depression"
When I still have my own issues to resolve.
