Coffee Vacation

by ·

8/17/2017
As the warm coffee touches my pursed lips,
I dream of something more:
A brief moment isolated from distraction,
A tender moment where I am one
With the ticking second hand,
Dreaming of the happiness
Sucked away by seconds of indecision.

The coffee takes me on a momentary vacation,
Free from the insecurities
Which too often plague my every waking breath,
To a place where right and wrong don't exist:
A place where the only thing is to exist
