The hurried breeze blows on this cloudy afternoon. The rain is coming. Moisture so thick, I can drink it down. The leaves on trees rustle, birds shout warnings overhead. You can smell the rain before you see it. The animals know, too, that the rain is coming. They head for cover—nowhere to be seen. The plants open their inviting arms.
There, boom!, the low rumbling in the distance. You can feel the ground quiver and shake in suspense. Dense clouds darken with malicious intent. Everything around (you) screams (at you) to run, but you wait—resolute. You have come this far, you can't turn back now. The rain—this rain—brings a salvation worth drowning for. This rain gifts the promise of renewal, redemption. Bathe in this rain; wash away the doubt which holds you down like an anchor. Release the rope and float free. Let this rain set you free.
