Another Christmas looming near
Fraught with angst, with doubt, and fear
You were never there, so why do I care
why waste time crying these tears?
Surrounded by those who love me most
sharing ourselves, compassion boasts
Yet when I close my eyes, to no surprise
I'm haunted by your incessant ghost
But a gentle touch brings me back
Out of the darkness, you show me a crack
Where light shines through, because of you
You give me the confidence I lack
I slide my fingers along the seam
Tear open the once impossible dream
I now see clear, it was always here
If only I dared to see the unseen
Stepping through—the light shines down
I fall to my knees, embrace the sound
With you by my side, my partner, my bride
Accepting today and all we’ve found
I finally see, what it means to be free
I release your hold; your power unfolds
My feet on the ground, stand tall and proud
Leave this place, mother, I don't need you around
