The sun brilliantly shines yet my head is still full of storm clouds.

Even when my path is paved and cleared of obstacles, I still trip over my own feet.

When everything I have is everything I need, I reject my good fortune and selfishly yearn for more.

Given every opportunity for happiness, I squander it away in self-pity and doubt.

I didn’t choose to be this way—this way chose me.
