Chilled to the bone

by ·

3/9/2016
Chilled to the bone,
Naked—alone.

Standing here for days,
Drenched—crazed.

I dream of the time,
In your warmth: sublime.

Such joy to reminisce,
The majesty of your kiss.

Wishing you were here,
To dry my endless tears.

Only you can warm my soul;
Only you can make me whole.

But our love grew old;
But our love grew cold.

This numbing wind blows,
My exile—self-imposed.

The darkness pains:
Insufferable reign.

Shackled by chains,
Only myself to blame.

Chilled to the bone,
Naked—alone.
