Begging To Be Seen

by ·

All alone, I’ve become
Begging to be seen
I was a staple in your life
What once was, now has been

When did I disappear
Was it slowly or just one day
Like fading ink where I wrote our vows
There’s no words left to say

Weathered, however I may be
My resolve: tried but true
All these years I’ve given my all
I’ve never steered away from you

But lately, it seems, try as I may
I can’t manage to break through
The walls erected, your fortress made
To keep me from loving to you

Let me in, don’t keep me out
We can build our life once more
We have the pieces, give me your hand
Face up upon the floor

One by one, they’ll fall in place
Trust me, we will be
Stronger than ever, we’ll put in the work
Together: you and me
