Autumn to Spring

Allow the last fallen leaf to drift to the ground and settle upon the earth who once pumped life through its veins. No more rustling leaves in the wind, just a naked canvas landscape, perfectly beautiful in its bare, exposed simplicity. The breeze blows through and stirs up leaves, but it cannot re-attach them to the trees from which they were born—cautiously content, patiently waiting for the new life of spring to emerge.
