As True as You

by ·

2/12/2017
No matter who you are—
if you are who they say you are, or
if you are who I know you to be—
The lens through which I view you goes unchanged.

Rumors, gossip, even if true, depict superfluousness found only in the fray of one's true character.

Idle words, empty semantics, do not define a person, a man.

Truth, alone, which transcends (idle) words and (empty) semantics, inhabits your marrow.

This truth speaks to who you are as a person, as a man, when all the insecurities are shed, makeup removed, and when you are stripped to your most honest core.

And this lens is as clear as it has always been.
Your character shines bright, honest, and true.
          As true as you.
