All Hope is Lost

by ·

10/13/2015
All hope is lost, the sun finally sets.

Her brilliant warmth kisses my cheek for the last time—a reminder of brighter days.

I savor the fleeting tenderness of her supple embrace
As she disappears into the boundless night— never to be seen again.

I spring forward to chase after my departed,
To find myself despairingly immobilized by my own sullen fear.
I expel a doleful howl, hoping to pierce through the darkness,
into the soul of my radiant bride.

But no sound can penetrate the hollow abyss.
My desperate cries echo for an eternity, a haunting reminder
that the sun shall never again shine upon my face.
All hope is lost, the sun has finally set.
