A Thousand Misled Souls

by ·

9/28/2015
A thousand misled souls march in tandem
To the beat of fabled promise.

Ever-obedient, we trudge on
With each order barked louder than the last.

We deftly oblige, unable to hear the voice of reason
as we blindly pace toward our ruinous destiny.

For in defeat—company is unwaveringly bountiful,
and as dependable as the beat of my heart.
