A Story Born

by ·

2/6/2019
a silent backdrop
a blank space
not a single fiber
out of place

bring out the paint
palette and brush
this canvas: naked
is in no rush

perfectly still
if you hold your breath
a cold chill echoes
delivering death

mix the paint
ready your hand
death will show you
where to stand

spill the colors
pay no due
let the hand
of death guide you

what once was peaceful
quiet, safe
is not/now erratic
yet allowed you to create

beauty requires
light & dark
destruction begets
a narrative arc

layer in hope
space and love
characters born
in the story above

when all is balanced
the mood is right
colors dance
dare not they fight

you've created something
a story to tell
a story born
in heaven and hell
