A Lesser You

by ·

10/21/2018
I'm sad today and I don't know why
All I can muster is a salty sight
My smile's been lost in a clear, blue sky
Don't pretend; why tell a lie?

Tell them how you truly feel
Expose the truth, don't conceal
Know the pain will always heal
At least, for once, you'll finally be real

Even in their shock and surprise
The sun will find a way to rise
Dispel the shadows passing by
Shining light from on high

But today you just feel sad and blue
Don't know where it came from, don't know what to do
Sometimes the sunlight doesn't shine through
That doesn't make you a lesser you
