Do I even matter
Am I just taking up space
Filling up a vacancy
Easily replaced
Am I more
Than bones and skin
Or am I just
The sum of my sins
When you look at me
What am I to you
A worthy soul
Or do you look right through
Through to where
A man once stood
Now lost in the ether
Gone for good
Do you see a shadow
A faded memory
Substance replaced
With a bygone reverie
If I don't matter
Why stay around
I'm much better off
Where I can't make a sound
Gone from this world
A world run cold
Pallor setting in
A story left untold
Did I ever matter
Was there a place for me
How did I even get here
I was never meant to be
